Givemeasteal web hosting packages allow the usage of FTP, SSH, File Manager, MS FrontPage, and any other web development publishing program, to upload files to your website.

Does my website get a control panel?

How much assistance do you provide for my website?

Givemeasteal will assist you with all support for services provided directly thruogh Givemeasteal Web Hosting. Givemeasteal will help you with basic settings for your email software and ftp client, as well as assist you with using the web browser control panel. Givemeasteal is not responsible for teaching you how to use another company's products. Example: Givemeasteal will assist you with the settings for using MS Frontpage™, but we will not teach you how to actually use the product itself. You need to contact the software maker in such a situation, who provides tech support for how to use their product. Givemeasteal cannot even attempt to support all the thousands of software products on the market. Givemeasteal will attempt to provide some tech support for the most popular programs our clients use. Givemeasteal is not responsible for assisting with your own programs and cgi scripts. If you choose to install your own programs and cgi scripts on your site, you are responsible fully for installing them. Givemeasteal will provide support for any program or cgi script that we provide pre-installed with your web hosting package. Givemeasteal is not responsible for designing, nor developing, your website, including HTML and/or images. Givemeasteal will attempt to give a quick look at your design/development problem, and offer a suggestion if it is a small issue. What if the hardware fails?

Our Network Operation Center (NOC) stocks replacement parts for all servers. NOC is always building new servers for our shared hosting clients, as well as our dedicated server clients, so a full inventory of parts is maintained. Hardware failures are uncommon, but they do happen, and are a part of the hosting business. NOC repairs all failed hardware promptly, to minimize any downtime caused by such.

The average shared server is a single or dual PIII 1GHz processor system, with 512-1024MB RAM. All Givemeasteal servers run spare hard drives for backup requirements.

Do you support International domain names and clients?

Givemeasteal can host all international domains on its servers. Givemeasteal can accept foreign clientele, just please be advised that all correspondance must be conducted in English. The client is responsible for handling the registration process of foreign domain name(s). This must be pointed to nameservers on the Givemeasteal network as assigned, or you can use other nameservers and route the domain name to the IP address you are assigned. Givemeasteal cannot handle the foreign domain registration process for you, due to the fact that we do not speak all of the potential foreign languages that may be involved. Givemeasteal will assist you however, with any technical information, needed to accomplish this.

How do I transfer my domain name?

You will just need to contact the company that registered your domain and have them change your name servers. The correct name servers are in your welcome letter.

How is my website monitored?

Our servers are monitored via network monitoring software. Givemeasteal monitors uptime as well as individual features and services running on each server. Givemeasteal staff is notified via alarms, email, screen popups, and paging, if a problem occurs.

What is the uptime?

99.34%. Givemeasteal strives to maintain a 100% network and server uptime service level. This uptime percentage is a monthly figure, and does not include any scheduled downtime for hardware/software upgrades.

Do you have battery backups and generators?

Our Network Operations Center is backed up and protected by UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) systems. In a very rare case of utility outages, our auto-start generators start automatically, taking over for the UPS system and supplying all necessary power for our Network Operations Center. APC™, Tripp-Lite™, & Liebert™ UPS Systems provide the power backups, along with Kohler™ generator systems.

How many sites are currently running on per server?

Givemeasteal does not have a set quantity of domains running on each machine. We find that ten domains can utilize more resources than 200 others. Givemeasteal monitors each server's performance levels and attempts to maintain a low server load average and high cpu availability. As needed, Givemeasteal will upgrade the hardware, to increase server performance. Individual domains that become to much for the server to handle, and utilize too much server resources, are moved to servers set up specifically for such resource intensive accounts.

Can I host more than one domain name per account?

Yes. This is known as a stacked or parked domain.

If you want domain2.com to go to maindomain.com there is a one time $15.00 setup fee and no monthly fee.

If you want domain2.com to open the files in maindomain.com/domain2/ transparently (i.e.. another site) there is a $5.00 per month fee no setup fee.

Stacked domains do not have a control panel or pop3 email. All email sent to stackeddomain.com will be sent to username@maindomain.com. If you have a platinum account it comes with 50 FTP accounts. You can setup one of the FTP accounts for the stacked domain.

Do you support ASP?

No. If you are looking for ASP, you should look for a Windows-based web host instead. We specialize in UNIX-based hosting.
