I am a new customer, and transfering my domain what do I do?

Contact the company (registrar) that registered your domain and ask them to change your name servers. If you don't know who registered your domain use the domain lookup. The registrar for your domain will be listed.

Can you point a domain to a sub directory for me?

Sure, this is called a stacked or parked domain. The fee is $5.00 a month if you have 10 or less and $2.50 a month if you have over 10.

Can I change my domain name?

Yes you can. Open a help desk ticket and request the change. Be sure to include your old domain and your new domain. There is no fee to change your domain.

How do I request a static IP?

We provide static IPs by request only.

Why? Because ARIN (the people who control the IP addresses of the internet) setup strict rules that state that we can not give an IP to a domain just because you want it. Two valid reasons are:

1. You need SSL setup

2. You need anonomyous FTP setup

If you have a valid reason for a static IP, you will need to backup your entire site (using the backup feature in your control panel) before requesting it because we will terminate your account and reset it up

After your site is backed up, open a trouble ticket at our Help Desk and request a static IP. There is a $5.00 fee per month for a static IP address.

When will my domain name be working on your servers?

Domain names usually propagate within 24 hours of the name servers being changed. However, this does depend on the registrar and can take up to 72 hours.

Will Givemeasteal transfer my domain name for me?

Yes. However, there is a $15.00 charge to transfer the domain to our account. This fee also includes a one year renewal on the domain and an online control panel for your domain. Here you can update your name server, contact information, etc. yourself.

How many domains can I have hosted on one account?

You can have as many domain names as you like on one account. However, please note that there is a charge for parking the domains ($5 a month per domain for pointing to a folder or a one time setup fee of $15.00 pointing the domain to the main domain). Also, these domains will not have their own control panel and will ONLY have email forwards.

If Givemeasteal registers my domain will I own it?

Yes, you will own the domain. You will be able to take the domain with you should you decide to cancel your hosting account.

Can I have more than one domain on the same account?

Yes. This is known as a stacked or parked domain.

If you want domain2.com to go to maindomain.com there is a one time $15.00 setup fee and no monthly fee.

If you want domain2.com to open the files in maindomain.com/domain2/ transparently (i.e.. another site) there is a $5.00 per month fee no setup fee.

Stacked domains do not have a control panel or pop3 email. All email sent to stackeddomain.com will be sent to username@maindomain.com. If you have a platinum account it comes with 50 FTP accounts. You can setup one of the FTP accounts for the stacked domain.
